Lance's Achievements & Experience

Lance Kimball, the 2025 United Appliance Servicers Association Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, boasts an impressive career in the appliance industry. He studied Business and Economics at the University of Florida and the University of South Florida. (Go Gators!)

Upon graduating from college in 1988, Lance started his professional career with Maytag as a sales rep working with independent appliance dealers. After nearly a decade with Maytag, he moved back to his hometown of Tampa, FL, and opened his own dealership, “The Authorized Maytag Home Appliance Center”.

He then went on to open his own service business, Appliance Repair Specialists in Tampa, Florida. Lance built a trusted business renowned for exceptional service. He also founded Appliance & A/C Parts Today, a go-to resource for local, quality appliance parts.

Lance attended his first United Service Association convention in 2004 and soon became a joined as a member. He became president for the first time in 2012 and for the second time in 2018. During his presidency, Lance made many improvements to the association:

Increased membership
Solidified first year funding for newly formed UASA Peer Groups
Renamed the association for clarity
Launched the Laundry Room webinar series
Created an advisory board with industry partners

It is such a joy to be able to recognize you for the great body of work you have helped initiate inside USA/UASA. I am so very proud of how you have taken your infectious desire to grow membership and made it a reality. Others caught your “disease” and walked along side your leadership in making it a reality. The entire industry has been immensely blessed as a result. Thank you for giving us so much of your life in your time, talent and treasures for the good of your friends, peer groups, fellow servicers, vendors, manufacturers, and competitors.

It has been such an honor to work with Lance over the years. The best part of working with him is that he doesn’t overcomplicate things or drag out discussions—he tells it like it is and says what needs to be heard. But what makes Lance so unique is that even with his no-nonsense approach, he’s one of the most approachable and genuinely nice people you’ll ever meet. During his time as president, Lance led the association through significant changes, laying the groundwork for much of the growth UASA has seen since. He has a remarkable ability to bring people together and coordinate efforts, all while cutting through the political noise that often gets in the way of real progress. Just a few weeks ago, before I even knew about this award, I was talking with a colleague about what made Lance such an effective leader as UASA president. That conversation says it all about the lasting impact Lance has as a leader. If you’ve ever had the privilege of working with him, you know he has a way of staying focused on the goals and delivering results. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Lance. You’ve truly earned it.

I met Lance well over a decade ago. I truly cannot say exactly what year it was; however, it was early on during one of the many years Lance served as President of the United Servicers Association. During that time, I not only got to know Lance as the leader of the association but also learned about what he cherishes most in his professional and personal life. Personally, I strongly believe in loyalty and commitment to whatever each person believes in. What makes Lance especially remarkable is that he places individuals—each of us—at the very heart of his belief system and commits himself to us. If you have had the honor of knowing Lance, you know he cares deeply about his personal and extended family, his business and its employees and customers, this association, and each and every company sitting here today and in years past. I have the highest respect for Lance Kimball and am truly honored to have had the privilege of knowing and working with him over the years.

I met Lance through our peer group. When I visited his office with the group, I was impressed. He runs his business differently from mine. I do a lot of warranty work; he doesn’t. It was inspiring to see how successful he can be without relying on warranty work to fill in the gaps. After that, I became PSA president. While we didn’t share trade secrets, we were able to discuss the challenges we both faced. Lance has a gift for getting along with many people and treating everyone with respect. He can look back at where UASA was and where it is today and confidently say, “Yeah, I helped make that happen. Hopefully, when I finish with PSA, I can say the same. Maybe I should quit now while I’m still ahead—I’d hate to have to say, “Yeah, I killed that.” Anyway, I’m glad Lance is my friend, and I hope I achieve the same level of success he has.

I first met Lance at a PSA board meeting during his first term as UASA President. My initial impression of Lance was that he was knowledgeable, well-rounded, and progressive. He was also honest and someone I felt I could trust. The PSA organization and I developed a strong relationship with Lance, and we began working together and supporting each other. Lance stepped up when needed and served a second term as President of UASA. Since then, Lance and I have developed a strong friendship. I always look forward to seeing him at conventions and catching up on all of his accomplishments. Lance is one of the most caring, loyal human beings I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in the industry, and there is no one more deserving of this award. Lance, I congratulate you on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award and wish you continued success and happiness. I am so grateful to be here to witness this well-deserved honor.

Attending my very first ASTI, Lance was one of the first people to greet me warmly, with his arm on my shoulder… as he often does. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with him in my first peer group and later serve alongside him on the UASA Board of Directors. Under Lance’s leadership as UASA President, I had the privilege of working with him to implement the vision of our association. Lance is a leader who has continually inspired me to think bigger and outside the box. Most importantly, Lance is my friend.
