Beyond the contest, Dave has been instrumental in expanding ASTI (Annual Service Training Institute), UASA’s flagship event. Most notably, he helped launch TechConnect in 2025, an initiative designed to revolutionize the trade show experience by connecting attendees directly with 23 leading manufacturers for hands-on learning and networking opportunities. Under his guidance, ASTI continues to grow, providing even more value to appliance servicers across North America.

A Vision for Growth

As UASA’s new President, Dave has a clear vision for the future of the association. His key priorities include strengthening UASA’s membership base, enhancing ASTI to make it bigger and better than ever, and refining operational processes to provide more streamlined support for members. He is committed to fostering industry partnerships, expanding training opportunities, and ensuring that UASA remains the premier resource for professional development in the appliance service sector.

What’s Next for UASA

Under Dave’s leadership, UASA has some exciting changes on the horizon. A full revamp of the association’s website is in the works, promising an improved user experience with easier access to resources and tools for members. Industry partners will also benefit from updated membership options, offering new ways to engage with the UASA community.

For those eager to get more involved, expanded volunteer opportunities will provide fresh avenues for members to contribute their expertise and help shape the association’s direction. And for fans of TechConnect, there’s great news—it’s expanding and set to return in 2026, bringing even more opportunities for hands-on learning and industry networking.

A Bright Future Ahead

With Dave Smith at the helm, UASA is positioned for a new wave of growth, innovation, and enhanced member engagement. His deep industry roots, proven leadership, and commitment to the association’s success ensure that UASA will continue to be a driving force in the appliance service industry.
